By creating an account or using KnowYourArea you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. The service
KnowYourArea shows road works, closures, diversions, metro, highway and other public infrastructure projects in Maharashtra, collected from public sources and from users. It is free to use. We may change, pause or stop any part of it at any time.
2. Who can use it
You must be 18 or older. By using the service you confirm that you are. Accounts are personal: keep your password safe and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
3. Information is indicative, not official
Information on KnowYourArea may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Dates, routes, timings and progress are estimates. Nothing on this site is an official notice. Always follow road signs, traffic police and official notices from the department concerned. Do not rely on KnowYourArea for emergency, safety-critical, legal or financial decisions. We are an independent service and are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any government body.
4. Sources and other people's content
Project information comes from public government websites, OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License) and from users. Departments own their notices; we link to the original wherever we can. Links to other websites are for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
5. Your reports and feedback
You keep ownership of the reports, comments and feedback you send. You allow us, free of charge, to store, check, edit, combine, publish and use them to run and improve KnowYourArea, without showing your name or email. You are responsible for what you send: report only what you have seen yourself, and don't include anyone's personal information, offensive or unlawful material, or anything you don't have the right to share. We may refuse, edit or remove any report. See our community guidelines.
6. Acceptable use
Don't: copy or scrape the site or its data in bulk or by automated means; use bots or try to get around rate limits, logins or other security; probe, overload or disrupt the service; reverse-engineer it except where the law allows; submit false or misleading reports; impersonate anyone; or use the service for anything unlawful. Commercial use of our data needs a written agreement with us.
7. Our content
The site, its design, text, the way data is compiled and presented, and the KnowYourArea name and logo belong to KnowYourArea, apart from third-party material noted on the site. You may share links and short quotes with credit to KnowYourArea.
8. Emails
We send account emails (confirmation, password reset) and, if you turn them on, alerts for your saved places. A monthly newsletter is sent only if you agreed to it. You can change these in your account at any time.
9. No warranty
KnowYourArea is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. We don't promise that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or free of errors.

Our total liability for any claim is limited to ₹1,000. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
